AGVISER AD publishes a summary of the conducted public consultation process regarding proposed amendments to the “Methodology for Improving and Accounting for the Level of Sequestered Carbon in Soil in the Agricultural Sector”, registered in the Balkan Carbon Credit Registry.

The proposed amendments aimed to update and enhance the application of the methodology so that it reflects current scientific practices and requirements in the fields of sustainable agriculture, emissions assessment, and carbon flux accounting in soils.

Purpose of the Public Consultation

The public consultation was organized to gather opinions, proposals, and expert feedback from stakeholders, soil science and agronomy specialists, as well as members of the public.
The main focus was to assess the completeness, transparency, and applicability of the proposed amendments to ensure that the methodology is:

  • scientifically sound,
  • effective in measuring soil carbon,
  • aligned with good international practices,
  • supportive of the integrity of environmental data.
